Owner/Chief Instructor Bryan LaBrecque Sensei began his training in 1967.

He Started Training in Shotokan Karate, Judo, and Classical Weapons. Over the years, he also trained in Ju Jutsu and Tae Kwon Do.

In 1979, he joined the U.S. Force as a Security Specialist. He was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. While stationed there, he was a member of the Swat Team and Air Base Ground Defense.

In 1980, he met and began training with Johnny Linebarger, a Shihan 9-time USKA World Champion and founder of Kosho Martial Training Institute. He continues to train with him to this day.

In 1983, upon being honorably discharged from the Air Force, LaBrecque Sensai returned to Maine and opened Kosho Karate Maine.
